Navigating Life: A Love Song through the Craziness

The world seems to be spinning faster and crazier these days, so I simply want to share an original love song and video for you to enjoy. The words of this song have grown to mean even more to my wife and me through her surgery and health journey these past months.

Committed love endures all things. People in love make the choice to serve and lift each other over and above their own preferences and whims. The evidence of love is more than words—it is seen through perseverance in struggles and blessings, in a shared life marked by choices to protect and strengthen the relationship. The Apostle Paul wrote about this kind of love that only comes from God:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Many couples I know are profoundly grateful for their marriage.  However, there are other people who are earnestly, even desperately praying for a person with whom they can walk through life in marriage. There are also those who wistfully long for that kind of mutual, loving relationship in their existing marriage.

This love song is for all of us. It’s not only about the love of another human being but can also be heard as God’s heartfelt invitation for us to turn to Him and his love—through our skepticism, disappointments, and battles in life. As John Eldredge shared, we are in a love story…but it is one set in a war.  In the battles of life, seen and unseen, we need love to survive and thrive.

I hope we will allow ourselves to be more and more open to God’s love—from other people and especially in Him.

God bless you!
